The Mountain Play isn't just a wonderful theater and outdoor experience, but also an incredible dining experience. Many attendees choose to pack gourmet picnics, combining the stunning views and award-winning entertainment with a fantastic feast. Others choose the fantastic experience of Dining in the Woods before heading to the main amphitheatre. And as always, there are many food options at the show itself. Join your fellow gourmands and make your day unforgettable.

Make sure to take advantage of Dining in the Woods a wonderful benefit of our Patron's Circle Reserved Seating package. Enjoy the rustic elegance of our intimate dining experience in a private grove. Dining seating times to choose from:    

Food Available on the Mountain

Village Cafe - sandwiches, hot dogs, salads and more. Check back for this season's menu. Mill Valley Rotary concession stand - hot beverages, cold drinks and ice cream to supplement your picnic. Proceeds go toward the Rotary's selected charity. Ye Olde Mountain Play Beer & Wine Tavern - serving a selection of beers and wines. Proceeds benefit the Mountain Play Association.  All selections are donated by our friends at Barefoot Winery & Lagunitas Brewery PLAYland - fun spot for kids. Cool off in the shade with a snow cone while you enjoy a puppet show.  

Bring Your Own Picnic

There's nothing like a picnic on a mountain top. Feel free to bring your own complete picnic. All patrons over the age of 21 may bring their own alcohol. Please drink responsibly and keep hydrated. Leave your large coolers at home and use the smallest coolers possible.  
Picnic Contest:
Get in on the Mountain Play tradition and bring your best picnic fare to the closing day picnic contest! Check in from 11am to Noon at the Raffle Booth and may the best picnic win!
The judging takes place from 12:30 to 1:30pm.
