Tax-deductible giving to the Mountain Play is welcome at any level. Each gift makes a real difference in the financial strength of our more than century-old non-profit. Ticket sales cover less than half of what it costs to produce live musical theater on Mount Tamalpais. This means the rest comes from our community through gifts from foundations, businesses, and people like you!

You can make a charitable donation of the stock’s fair market value on the day you donate it. If you are interested in making a tax-deductible stock donation, please email Executive Director & Artistic Producer Eileen Grady at [email protected].
Donating to the Mountain Play using a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) Can Be a Great Idea
If you are age 73*or older, IRS rules require you to take required minimum distributions (RMDs) each year from your tax-deferred retirement accounts. Read more about it courtesy of our friends at Fidelity Brokerage Services: Read More
*The change in the RMDs age requirement from 72 to 73 applies only to individuals who turn 72 on or after January 1, 2023. After you reach age 73, the IRS generally requires you to withdraw an RMD annually from your tax-advantaged retirement accounts (excluding Roth IRAs, and Roth accounts in employer retirement plan accounts starting in 2024). Please speak with your tax advisor regarding the impact of this change on future RMDs. As always, before making any decisions about your retirement planning or withdrawals, you should consult with your personal tax advisor.
See if your company will match your volunteer hours with a donation if you volunteer with us. We need up to 70 volunteers for every performance, with 5-8 hours for each shift. Gather your colleagues together to volunteer for a few hours, and then see the show for free. Click here for a list of companies with matching programs.
